Our Mission

Anglican Youth Ministries are intent on having the value of young people and Youth Ministry recognised and considered in the decision making processes at a Diocesan, Regional and Parish level.

Anglican Youth Ministries exists to co-ordinate and develop effective responses to the needs of young people (aged 13-30) years involving the young people themselves in this process and working in a Christian context.

Strategic Plan

"The evangelism and discipleship of young people into a growing relationship with Christ and a spiritual journey with others, in the unity and diversity of the Anglican Church"

  • To promote unity between people of all ages within the Anglican Communion.

  • To promote a community within the Anglican Church in which young people can explore and develop

  • their relationship with God and with each other.

  • To empower young people to pursue their spirituality throughout life

  • To enthuse, empower and encourage young people to actively participate in all aspects of church life.

  • To have young people contribute to the decision making processes of the Anglican Church.

  • To communicate that young people are essential to the transforming role of the church as a pro-active and interdependent community.

Organisation Profile

AYM's main roles include education and training, resourcing, networking, advocacy for youth in the wider church and community, encouraging a range of youth activities and programs, and support for youth ministry at the local parish levels.

Primarily we work with clergy and lay leaders to assist them in the development of Youth Ministry so that there is a multiplier effect. In this way we add value rather than duplicating services at a Parish level.

Ultimately, this should result in more young people enjoying recognition, having needs met and being valued in the Diocese of Perth.
